Join us in Praying for the Children and Schools in Haiti

On January 12, a 7.0 magnitude earthquake devastated Haiti's capital city of Port-au-Prince. Will you join us in praying for the people of Haiti, especially the children and schools, as they endure the aftermath of this tragedy? Pray that God strengthens the MITI moms in Haiti as they cry out for the children and schools who have witnessed and experienced this horrendous catastrophe.
Pray specifically for Marie Berson, director of 12 Christian schools in Haiti who leads Moms In Touch groups for each school. Pray God sustains her as she comforts the students and their families, even as she, herself, mourns the loss of loved ones in Port-au-Prince.

Join as we pray for Haiti and ask God …
  • to strengthen Marie Berson, the director and MITI leader for 12 schools in Haiti, as she comforts her school staff and students.
  • to clearly show God’s love and comfort to the 2,500 children in the Christian schools in Hinche and surrounding villages so they will put their faith in Christ.
  • to provide for the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of Haitian families.

  1. Oh God, Almighty One, Heavenly, Compassionate, All-Knowing God. You alone are worthy of our praise. Lord, we confess that when we are faced with disaster, we are full of questions and anxiety. We need your hand of mercy, your healing power and the comfort of your Holy Spirit to keep us going.

Lord, Thank you for being available to us night and day, reaching those we cannot ourselves reach out to. Lord, Thank you for giving us hope that you can do what to us seems impossible. Thank you, Lord, that we see you alive in Haiti even in the midst of ruble that we cannot begin to phathom. Thank you for the precious little orphan children who smiled and waved their hands at us from so far away as they sang out "Waves of Mercy, Waves of Grace". In their fear and sorrow, they are filled with your hope and joy.

We call upon you, Heavenly Father, Abba, God, to go where we cannot to be with the suffering people of Haiti and to those who have been called to serve them. Be with them in their despair. God, we ask you to rescue them from the ruble! Comfort them in their sorrow. Encourage them with your hope. Fill them with your peace. Fill them with your bread and water. Heal every wound, physical, emotional and spiritual. Above all, we pray that you would be glorified in this place. That your mercy would rain down upon a people who desperately need you now. We pray that you would do more than we can even ask or imagine and that all would confess with their mouths, that You indeed love them with an unfailing love.

"The mountains and hills may crumble, but my love for you will never end; I will keep forever my promise of peace." So says the Lord who loves you. Isaiah 54:10 GNT

  2. Our God who Provides,
We pray that You comfort the hurting in Haiti. Lord, we pray that You provide the workers to find anyone who might still be alive in the rubble. Lord, provide the water and food needed to sustain the survivors. Be the Father to the children who have lost their parents. Be their provider. Show them Your love.

  3. Jehovah Shammah - Lord You are there. May Your hands reach out and touch the hurting, injured and the many in need of healing. Lord Jesus for those who are in a desperate state of mind we pray for Your peace that calms even when it is beyond understanding. Your Word reminds that the nearness of God is our good. May Your face be turned to these dear people today and pour out grace and mercy upon them. Take two fish and five loaves and multiply provision to feed the multitudes. Jesus we fail even in knowing everything that could be prayed but today as we watch this horror from far away we can have peace knowing that You are interceding at the right hand of the Father for this country even now. May You be glorified Jesus.

Use those who are their to serve to be your hands and feet...allow your servants to be filled with your Spirit as they minister. We anticipate your glory Lord. In Jesus' name, Amen.

  5. "God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging." Psalm 46:1-3

Father, please be with those suffering in Haiti. May those who know you not give way to fear and remember that You are their refuge and their strength. Give them Your strength, Lord, in the days ahead! Help them to be a refuge to others and to point all to You. May those who do not know you discover that You are God Almighty. May they realize how fragile life is, and that You alone give life eternal. Use this horror to draw them closer to You who loves them. In Jesus' Name, Amen

  6. Thank you for all your prayers, they are so needed and appreciated and updated prayer request is:prayers for Haiti- our big prayer right now (of course for the people first) is for fuel. There is a shortage of fuel and we cannot get our supplies in or our team in unless we get diesel for the trucks or fuel for mission aviation.

  7. I went to a prayer meeting last night and a precious young one prayed, "Lord, give the people in Haiti clean water." It was the most profound prayer all night. I echo her prayer and add, Lord, give the people in Haiti fuel, strength to endure and through this may many learn of the hope there is in Jesus Christ.

  8. Philippians 4:19
And my God shall supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.

    Psalm 31:7
    I will be glad and rejoice in thy lovingkindness; For thou hast seen my affliction: Thou hast known my soul in adversities;

May God richly supply for every need of our brothers and sisters in Haiti and comfort and love them in this great affliction.

  9. Please be in prayer for Maison d'Enfants Par La Foi in Haiti and for search and rescue of a school that collapsed on 2000 students and for those dear, dear moms that have lost children. We cannot imagine their pain. Please pray for these moms that are looking for their children, for the orphans in this an other orphanages that they would get food, water and shelter, and please pray thanksgiving and protection for my co-workers at Operation Mobilization (and so many others from the US and around the world who are helping) who are down with the orphanages and doing the rescue at the school. You can see pictures and a video of them at www.omusa.org Please pray for help, Lord, that we would be the hands and heart of God's redemption and restoration.

  10. God had not abandoned Haiti. May the faith of the people be restored. "Where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord. Maker of Heaven and earth." Psalm 121:1-2. Mighty God, thank you that you are always with us. Help the children and adults in Haiti to feel your love in their time of need.

  11. A pastor and his wife in Haiti emailed the following prayer requests.

Please continue to pray for water, food, shelter and medical care to be delivered in a timely manner.

Pray for comfort that only God can give.

Pray for the many fleeing Port-au-Prince to the other provinces; that they may find food, clothes, shelter and medical care, as well as hope in Jesus Christ.

Pray for the availability and means to purchase water, food, gas and other supplies needed to care for those affected in Port-au-Prince and those fleeing to other areas.

Pray for the many who have had amputations, requiring long term adjustments. We are hearing reports, that there are about 60 amputations per day. Pray for good healing, for infections not to set in, and family, friends or others to come and help.

Pray for phone service to be restored. It is returning in some areas, but very slowly and inconsistently.

Pray for those who have not heard the status of loved ones in Port-au-Prince.

Pray for us at Calvary Chapel Caneille, that God would use us to share the gospel and bring comfort to the many in need.

Pray for sun all day in Caneille in order to be able to use solar power for communications.

Pray for God to be glorified in all, and for many to come to Him.

Thank you so much for your prayers and support.

  13. Dear Lord and Heavenly Father,
We praise you for who you are, the Great Physician, and we lift up the people and government of Haiti into your loving and precious hands. We know You are our help in every need and we can do all things though Christ who strengthens us. Help us also to know that "the Joy of the Lord is our strength" and "You are our refuge and strength, a very present help in times of trouble."
God we know you will supply every need according to your riches in glory, because you are Jehovah Jireh, our provider, and your grace is truly sufficient for us. We lift up all the sick and wounded, the schools, teachers and students, all healthcare professionals, missionaries and aid workers, and all ministries/churches and orphanges, that you continue to heal them in mind, body and spirit. We pray for protection of all children from human traffickers, and that all be done to keep them safe, until they are returned to the safety of families or adopted/sponsored guardians/parents. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.
