Run to the One who Cares

The enemy is after our children. We hear of school shootings in Alabama, a teenager kidnapping a baby in Florida, and a high school student being raped and murdered in San Diego County, CA.
Our hearts ache for these families. We cry out in frustration and anger. And even in fear. Where do we turn when our hearts are broken?
We turn to the only One who can make sense of the senseless, our Abba Father.
Run to the arms of the One Who Cares.
He is the God who weeps for us. He cares for us. He comforts us.
“Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.” (Psalm 23:4)
Satan is on the attack. Now is not the time to give him one tiny foothold.
Ladies, will you join with us in greater resolve to “stand firm and without fear” (Job 11:15b)?
We are in a spiritual battle for the very lives of our children. “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.” (Ephesians 6:12)

Our Precious Savior, we cry out to You on behalf of the hurting moms across our country. Lord, bind up their wounds. Comfort their hearts. Strengthen their souls. Lord, we ask that You call moms together to pray fervently for their children and schools.

  2. So sorry about Chelsea from Poway High...the very high school where Moms In Touch began when Fern Nichols kids were there. Very strange.

  3. My children have not been killed or raped as mentioned at the beginning of this piece-I pray also in one accord for those families, especially to have the peace that passes all understanding. My children are both unemployed and desperately in need of work and God's direction.

  4. I have been praying with MITI since before my daughter was born. She is now 13. Friday my daughter told my husband that she was on a "hit" list at school. There were 25 names on the list, several were teachers and the rest were students (all 7th graders). It was resolved by the next afternoon. I am so glad that I have spent so much time crying out to God for the life of my child and the children in her school. May God be glorified.

  6. Thank you so much for sending these words of truth and encouragemnet. It has been bewildering and unnerving to hear of these tragedies and imagine the horrific pain of the moms and dads. By God's grace, thank you for reorienting our thoughts to solid Truth and redirecting us to His Heart. Vik

  7. As I was working out at the gym this morning and the news came across the TV screen about the High School Sr. that was raped and murdered in CA. my heart wepted for her parents and friends. I think about my own daughter who is a Sr. in high school as well, and how devastated I would be as a mother. All we can do is to continue praying daily for our children and others to have our Lord's shield of protection over them. D. M. Tx.

  8. Mt heart goes out to Chelsea's family from Poway, the headquaters of MITI. I pray for God to comfort them, when there is no explanation for such evil. Thank you for continuing to remind us of daily putting on our full armor to fight off the enemy. I have been in MIT for 10 years now and am still praying and believing in God's promises.

  10. Thank you for reminding me that this is a battle and I must keep fighting through prayer. Some times it seems that my children are never going to come to the Lord but I know that He is faithful! Bless you MIT! Keep up the good fight of faith.

  11. There is only One True Comforter who can carry us through such times as these. It is "He who Waits with Open Arms"..... We run to him with heavy hearts. He alone is able to save us. He alone is able to wipe away every tear. He alone is able to provide for us a future where there shall be no more tears, no more death. I pray for Chelsea's family and others like hers to run to the One who Waits with Open Arms and rest in His promises. Jesus is the Victor!

  13. In this life of uncertainty, we can cling to the One Who never changes. In this battlefield on earth, we can be strong in the Lord, with His powerful sword of the Spirit, His word. Praying in the word, inserting our children's names in the text, has a remarkable effect. "Lord, You say in your word that if my child calls on you, you will answer him and show him things he knows not of..." Jer. 33:3 is God's phone number! May God comfort and defend these families who have experienced such tragedies. We want to encourage them, so that they too, may "pour out your hearts like water; lift up your hands... for the lives of your children." Lam.2:19

  14. Having lost two children to suicide, I have faced my worst fears come true. My son was 28, my daughter only 26. Our 20 year old has had two serious attempts. Only faith in a merciful God, support of my MITI sisters, and my loving husband keeps me going. Other Moms suffering this heart breaking loss may be encouraged by the fact that Gods plan for them still stands. Through Christ, their strength and peace will be renewed.

  15. My heart breaks for these families. I'm so thankful for a Moms in Touch group that prays each week. I wish more mom's would commit to that prayer time.
